This article describes how to transfer ownership of an account to a new user. A printable/downloadable PDF version of this instruction has been included with this article.
Required:
Access to CleverLife Home App Account (Home Owner)
Access to CleverLife Home App Account (New Member)
Definitions:
Home Owner – Clever Life App account that is used to
initially setup devices.
New Member – Clever Life App account that is to be added
into an existing account.
1. Adding a new member
To add in a new member to an existing account simply navigate to your Home Settings page, this is found in the ‘Home Management’ menu (if you have not yet created a home, simply do so by selecting ‘Create a Home’. This is a virtual location that all your devices will be stored). From here select ‘Add Member’, then select your notification method. Once the new member has been successfully invited you can set their permission level in your account, choose either common member or administrator.
Notification Method
App Account – Enter the new users display name, then account information (email address used to create the account). This new user will be automatically sent an in-app request to accept your invitation to join your home.
Messages – Enter the new users mobile phone number. Here the new user will be sent a txt message with a unique invitation code. This code can be entered when you select ‘Join a Home’ in the Home Management menu.
Email – This is the same as the Messages function, however the invitation code will be sent to an email address.
Copy – This method copies the message and email content to the mobile device clipboard. This can then be ‘pasted’ wherever required to share to the invitee.
As the account Homeowner, you are able to modify the access
level and remove any current member of your account. This is done by entering the Home Management
menu and selecting your Home, then select the user and modify/remove as
required. This is beneficial when setting
up temporary access to an account for the purpose of setup and/or
commissioning, the homeowner can add in the technicians account, then once
complete revoke and remove access.
1. Transferring Account Ownership
We provide the option of transferring an App Account Ownership over to another account member. This may be required if an account has been activated and setup using an alternate email, such as the installer or technicians email. To complete an ownership transfer, the new owner must be an existing member of the account (refer section 1 on adding a new member).
To complete ownership transfer, enter the Home Management menu and select your Home. Next select the ‘Transfer Home Ownership’ button and select the new owner account from the list.
